Mirolyubova A. Yu. Genius of Romanticism: Author like hero (peculiarities of romantic conception of creator’s biography basing on the exemple of Torquato Tasso)

Teh article deales with the notion of Genius accepted in romantic conceptosphere and correlated with the notion of Hero, eminent personality, opposed to the mainstreem of society. Such Genius became not only a fictional Hero: even the reception of past ages writer’s real life changes abdruply. Tasso’s poem “Gerusalemme Liberata” was included into classicistist canon and assimilated in Russia as an example of epical poem and translated in alexandrin verses according to french tradition. But after the publication of literary mistification by Compagnoni, were Tasso appeared like a victim of rage of the potent Duke, whose sister he dared to love, his image was submissed to romantisation. So in russian epical tradition from Cheraskov to Pushkin Tasso’s formula was transformed from classicist to romantic, together with the translation strategys.

Keywords: genius; hero; Torquato Tasso; translations of Gerusalemme Liberata; russian epical tradition.
